Distribution and population:
  • Rookeries:(FAO)
    1. Michocoan, Mexico
    2. Guatemala
    3. Galapagos Islands
  • Range:(FAO)
    • Inhabits coastal waters of the eastern tropical Pacific ocean.
    • Not commonly observed in the opean ocean.
  • Population: (Agardy - BBC Wildlife 1992)
    • Difficult to estimate but some 3,000 females in Mexico/californian coast.
    • Less important nesting near Galapagos.
    • Also some nexsting north in Academy Bay. (see FAO for details)
