Turtle Research Group
Who
are they?
This is one of the major activities of the group and has been running since its inception as an undergraduate expedition from the University of Glasgow in 1992. It involves a large number of volunteers (usually university undergraduates) from across the UK, Europe and Northern Cyprus itself.
Ascension
Island
At present, Drs. Broderick and Godley are employed to run this project with Dr. Graeme Hays of the University of Wales, Swansea. Funding is provided by the Darwin Initiative of the UK Department of Environment, Trade and the Regions.
Little
Cayman Project
This project is carried out in conjunction with Jonathan Aitken of the Cayman Islands Department of the Environment.
British Marine Turtle Stranding Network
In collaboration with a number of agencies nationwide, a UK Marine Turtle Stranding Network has been set up allowing the analysis of patterns and causes of mortality.
