British Chelonia Group

Who are they?

This animal charity is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of Tortoises, Turtles and Terrapins worldwide.
Its aims are:
1. To provide chelonia keepers with the support needed to ensure that their captive animals receive quality husbandry.
2. To raise funds from members, and from the public, to finance rescue, research and conservation projects worldwide.
3. To discourage the importation and purchase of wild caught specimens, in favour of responsible captive breeding.

How are they involved?

The BCG have provided valuable funding for the MTRG's sea turtle tracking programme. They also asked members to name the green turtle for this project.
