It is still dark and very early in the morning and all the eggs have hatched successfully. Unknown to you, a conservationist had placed a cover over the nest which has protected it from predators and people. The nest has been carefully watched by the conservationists and the cover has been removed to allow all of the hatchlings to emerge (come out) successfully

It has rained and the temperature has fallen. The eggs take longer to hatch and dawn approaches.Click on the hatchling to go onto the next location.

Disaster! A 4-wheel drive van picking up a load of sand from the beach for building, drives over your nest and compacts the sand. The hatchlings are just about to emerge from the nest and 25 are killed.
