Soft sand

You lay 100 eggs into the bottom of the flask-shaped hole although plant roots make the task difficult. You fill the hole with sand and disguise the area to prevent predators from finding your nest. Your need to return to the safety of the sea is great and you turn around and head back towards the water. You reach the warm sea and swim out into the bay - you may return in a few weeks to lay a second clutch of eggs.

You will now need to keep an account of how many of your eggs hatch and survive and how many turns you have taken..
